Ethics

At Rockwell Collins, we are committed to conducting our business with the highest standards of ethics and in accordance with the laws and regulations of the countries in which we do business. Ethics is a cornerstone of our company’s heritage and remains an important part of our culture and the way we do business.

Clay Jones, Chairman, President and CEO of Rockwell Collins, expands on the importance of upholding our high standards and our ethics philosophy at Rockwell Collins in a video message.

To ensure our commitment to ethics is effectively communicated, each of our employees is provided with a copy of our Code of Ethics, referred to as our Standards of Business Conduct. This document includes a general overview of our policies and procedures as well as guidelines for making ethical decisions. All amendments or waivers to this document are posted on this Web site in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

All of our employees, officers and directors are expected to be familiar with our Standards of Business Conduct and apply them in the performance of their responsibilities. Annually, all employees and members of our Board of Directors are required to complete a certification regarding compliance with our standards of business conduct and conflicts of interest policies. The actions of our agents and representatives are also expected to be governed by these ethical values and practices.

Additionally, our employees from around the globe participate in ethics training upon hire and on an annual basis thereafter. Our ethics training includes an overview of our Standards of Business Conduct, training on how to make the right choice when confronted with an ethical dilemma, and video messages from our senior leaders.

To uphold the integrity of our Standards of Business Conduct, the Rockwell Collins Ombudsman Program provides an avenue for our employees, customers, suppliers and shareowners to report suspected violations of our Standards of Business Conduct and ask questions when faced with an ethical dilemma. Posters with the Ombudsman's contact information are placed in all of our facilities to ensure our employees and other stakeholders are able to easily access the Ombudsman if they have questions or concerns. (See links at right to view posters in the series.)

Our commitment to ethics is communicated to our employees through educational tools provided on our internal Web site, newsletters and other employee publications, and regular messages from our leaders. You can read more about our culture of ethics in a recent Horizons magazine article that features three of our employees and their perspectives on how ethics contributes to building trust.
