9/14/2011 Rockwell Collins yesterday announced its versatile and highly reliable PAVES 3™ in-flight entertainment (IFE) system for single-aisle aircraft at the 2011 Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Expo in Seattle, Wash.

Pictured above: Principal Marketing Manager Clare Josey shows journalists at APEX the PAVES 3™ easy-to-use in-seat monitor graphical user interface.
The company demonstrated the new digital IFE system, which is the only IFE system in the single-aisle market to offer customizable cabin configurations, to a group of journalists as well as expo attendees in its APEX exhibit. PAVES 3 features a high-definition in-seat monitor with a host of entertainment and service offerings and seamlessly integrates personal mobile devices.
One journalist asked if passengers will be able to charge their personal mobile device with PAVES 3 to which Clare Josey, Marketing for Rockwell Collins, quickly answered, “yes.”
“The PAVES 3 in-seat monitor allows for USB charging of personal devices,” Josey told the press. “As single-aisle aircraft continue to take on longer flights, passengers will rest easy knowing their personal device will not run out of power.”
Rockwell Collins emphasized that this is the optimal IFE solution for the single-aisle aircraft operations where quick gate turns are common. In the rare chance the need arises, with one simple tool, the PAVES 3 in-seat monitor swapped out for another in less than one minute.
